Hello, there!
This week, Hero Arts artist, Shari Carroll is showing us her beautiful works.
Yestreday, she gave us 4 marvelous sketches to work with for this week.
The PDF file can be downladed from the URL below:
http://heroarts.com/blogs/club/files/2009/08/sharis-blog-week-sketches.pdf.
So I decided to try some and going to join the 'sketches2' challenge.
This is my card, 'You inspire me'.
Made this card to take on her Monday sketch. I love her sketches!
My colors for this card were a little bit shift to autumn colors. The reason is ... I went to 2 department stores yesterday evening and received the Autumn - Winter clothes reserved them in this spring. (I'm really simple minded. Haha.)
The center circle coloring is used Perfect Pearls which I learned the methods at 2Peas Thinking Inking class by Jennifer Mcguire last week. And the background heat embossing is also from her class - mixing Perfect Pearls with clear embossing powder.
This is a closeup.
But I couldn't show you that I used perfect pearls, 'Green Patina' and 'Heirloom Gold' colors with clear embossing powder. I'm sorry! The center circle coloring is also used the same 2 powders.

Actually I was gonna make only a dots-design colorful card. But when I finished it, I came to want making others. Don't you think this 3 words 'Imagine, Play, Create' is so good when we present materials or something to friends?

Just saying Hello
I recieved the Scallop Background stamp from the HA last Monday as my HM prize. - Actually I thought to get this gorgeous stamp. So, I made this image on a clear board - I want to create it to be an album in the future. But I'm gonna hang this on a wall for a while. - to say a 'Big Thank You!' to the Hero Arts.
This is a closeup view.
The Scallop Background was stamped with VersaMagic Sage, Distress inks Peeled Paint and Black Soot by Ranger.
The small elephant was stamped with Brilliance Graphite Back, and put the VersaMark Dazzle Champagne a little. And then, I did clear embossing on it several times to make epoxy-like embellishment.
*This clear embossing method to make epoxy-like embellishment is the way of Ms.Jennifer McGuire showed us the fantastic card with how-to on HA blog on April 20th, 2009.
stamp used:
HA Clear design All Occasion Messages/ CL272
HA Clear design Elephant / CL280
HA Clear design Whoo Loves You / CL309

a Window card - Sending Warm Wishes
Finally, spring comes here. Trees are starting to sprout new leaves. Those are really fresh and beautiful. And, many birds are singing outside!
I made a card yesterday night for this week's challenge of the Hero Arts. The project theme is 'window'. - creating cards, scrapbook pages, or objects with a window on it.
But, my idea was so humble... Originally, I love the scene at the window, the shape of window frames or windowpanes.
So, I made a card which scene is at the window near the big tree. Oh yes, I wanted to express my 'early spring'.
This is the card, 'a Window card - Sending Warm Wishes'.
The round small table was made by

This is a close-up view around a flower vase and a bird cage.

HA Clear design All Occasion Messages/ CL272

Friendship card (Kindred Spirits)
I made this friendship card for the Hero Arts challenge.
Telling you the truth, I was going to entry this card for the last week's. But I couldn't continue to make this by the sad incident on my beloved cat.
This week, I finished this, put only 3 flower motifs.
I sometimes do collaborative works with foreign creators. From last December to this January, I sent the same design cards to American and German architects whom worked with in the past, and now they are my friends.
I got an opportunity to make this for myself (my cards collection) at the friendship challenge.
Here's a partly closeup.
Technique I used etc.
After stamped DesignBlocks with dye inks, I slightly colored with watercolors for the background. 3 flowers motifs are just only stamped with dye inks, and put the glittered glues around the edges.
stamp used:
HA DesignBlocks Old Writing Flower Collage / S5105
HA DesignBlocks Raindrop Background / S5101
HA clear design Fancy Friendship / CL295
paper:
Cardstock / Bazzill Basics, American Craft
DCWV pattern paper, Graphix / plastic sheet
Inks etc.for coloring:
HA Shadow Ink / Soft Pool, Blossom, Lilac, Sand, Cube Soft Pink, Gold
Tsukineko StazOn / Jet Black
Ranger Distress Ink / Vintage Photo
Ranger Stickles / Frosted Lace, Distress Worn Lipsticks, Broken China, Scattered Straw
Watercolor (solid, pencil)
Accessories:
HA Citron Gemstone / CH130, Light Green Accent Pearl / CH174, ribbon
Thanks for stopping by!
