Red Heart with an owl

Hi, there!
On Jan. 18th, after my winter vacation, I restarted my work.
And finally today, I could be back blogging. :)
So I introduce you my Valentine's card that I made last Wednesday -Oh! A week has already passed. - for participating in Hero Arts January challenge round 2, and Caardvarks 'Red Heart Challenge'.
And this is for my father, going to have an operation on an internal disease in this February.

Here is the card.

And this is the detail around the flower.
I like to make flower petals curl to use glitter glue, because it's so easy to get the effect for non heavy weight papers.
So I cut out one flower motif from 'Heart and Flowers' stamp image, and used Ranger Stickles and Distress Stickles, after slightly colored with Copic Markers.

Stamp used:
HA Owl / B4951
HA Cling Stamp Ledger / CG138
HA Cling Stamp Heart and Flowers / CG159
HA Clear Design Everyday Sayings/ CL342

Supplies:
HA Kraft notecard, Chatter Box PP, Bazzil Basics CS
Tsukineko / Brilliance Moonlight White, Copic markers, color pencils
Tim Holtz Idea-ology / snap
pearls, jute cord etc.

Thanks for stopping by! :)
Have a beautiful week!

Thank you card with a butterfly

Hi, there!
Finished this card  for one of my friends and for Hero Arts January challenge 1st round.
I've been playing with this butterfly cling stamp again, after I noticed the day before yesterday that the Hero Arts changed their challenges a little
- from former 'weekly' challenges to 'month-long' contests around the monthly theme. The details are on this page of their blog.

Here is my card.

And this is a closeup.

This Design Blocks 'Wallpaper background' has been in my favorites since last spring, but probably, this would be the first time to use it for the card opened to the public, I think.
I did heat embossed with white powder, colored with Liquid Pearls and put the Diamond Glaze inside of the leaves' shapes. And added Dimensional Pearls for the flower centers.
And I colored with opaque gold marker and put the Diamond Glaze for the dots in the butterfly image.

Stamp used:
HA Cling Stamp Butterflies (3 images) / CG130
HA Design Blocks Wallpaper background / S5166
HA Clear Design Thank You Sayings/ CL341

Supplies:
HA Kraft notecard
Ranger / Distress Inks, Perfect Pearls, Liquid & Dimensional Pearls,
Judikins / Diamond Glaze, opaque marker, ribbon, beads, wire etc.

Thanks for stopping by! :)
Have a beautiful week!

Hi, everyone!
I'm now making a few cards for the persons. Because I couldn't make them in last year. :(

Here is the finished card.

I put Perfect Pearls on the butterfly stamp image after slightly inking with distress inks. Used Liquid Pearls for the dimensional dots. This was my first time use of this butterfly cling stamp - so lovely! - , despite it was delivered in last autumn... :(
I'm going to make more similar cards when the time allows. :)

About an hour ago, I knew the theme of January Challenge of
Hero Arts was 'Friendship and Valentine’s'. (I'm really slow from the last autumn. Ha!) So I decided to submit this and the works that I posted here on Jan. 11th, because I tend to miss the opportunities to entry.
Thank you.

the first creations in 2010

Hi! Happy Monday, everyone!
In the evening of Jan 7th, I made a card for one of my friends, Ms. K, she gave me tons of needlework goodies before last Christmas when she stayed in Japan, teddy bear kits, embroidery flosses, a gorgeous embroidery chart book by Marie-Thérèse Saint-Aubin, the French designer, and the truffle (chololates) etc. (Thanks so much K chan!)
I'm going to send her the card with some gifts.

Well, here is the card.

I did heat-embossing on the pattern papers to use two stamps. And actual color of the flower is more pink, since I used Worn Lipstick Distress Ink for it, and added some colors to use copic markers.

And I also made the ATC to use left-over papers.

stamp used:
HA Houndstooth / K5175
HA Design Blocks Raindrop Background / S5101
HA Design Blocks Woodgrain / S5208
HA Clear Design All Ocasion Messsages / CL272
Stampers Anonymous / Studio 490 stamp

other supplies:
Bazzil Basics CS, SEI PP
Ranger Distress Inks, Distress Stickles、Dimensional Pearls
HA Hearts Accent Pearl, Copic Markers etc.

Today is the national holiday in Japan. And I'm in my winter holidays yet - I'm going to take holidays for one more week. So I'll try to make, and I'll be able to show you something. Until then.

Thanks for stopping by! :)
Have a beautiful week!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! - Oh my, I'm really slow. :(
Thank you so much everyone for your New Year's greetings to me! :)

How are you doing?
It has been cold days here since the end of last month. Sometimes, the wind howls through the residences or buildings outside and we have a little snow. - we had only a day covered with snow on Jan. 1st. It's true that the cold here is very intense, but it bears no comparison with that in north regions of the North America,  European countries or other regions stand in high latitude though. But I've been catching a bad cold.

The guests intermittently visited our house from New Year's day to yesterday. - Visitings of New Year is different from the party, there's no staring time. The guests come when they want to do. I don't like this New Year customary practice in Japan. Really happy to see the visitors, but the dishwashing machine keeps working. :(
I forgot to take pic of the Japanese flower arrangements that I made for New Year. So I took pic of the pine and the senryou (Chloranthus) in our garden this afternoon. This is natural 'the New Year's pine decoration'! The birds brought the seeds of the Chloranthus beside the pine tree. And I made the digital data above to use the photo. Unfortunately, it has been slightly raining since this morning.

May your days in 2010 be filled with happiness!
Love, Tomo
